Mysterious Messenger #37 (Poetry Audio/Text)
She wants to know
what I have against Jesus.
I say, "nothing."
Jesus was an Indin
with a Vision
storytelling from campfire to campfire,
cherishing
the poor, desolate, downhearted
and dangerous…
He’d have felt at home on the Rez.
He saw truth in the land, breathed
gratefully, told great stories
and certainly would have opposed
Manifest Destiny.
"So why aren't you a Christian?"
Well, that's a European of a different color;
an arrogant offspring far removed from ancestors
blindly accepting the fanciful scribbles of
ignorant descendants,
filling the messenger's mouth with myth,
dressing him in foreign clothes,
worshiping him in temples where he would not walk,
using his name to justify the destruction
of nations, then
dedicating the blood to him.
Christianity is a mutant orphan
that does not know its parent,
recreating truth as it goes along,
deifying a visionary stripped of his message,
crucifying the world.
They've forgotten the message of that Sun Dancer, Jesus.
Like his bones,
there's nothing left of him today
but dry dust and mystery.
Still, mystery is enough for Sun Dancers, and somewhere
he's drumming with the Real People.
Right on!
Dancing fireside ‘neath the diamond sky
Long hair waving free🙏❤️✌🏼🕉
The best piece on Jesus. I love it!
